Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Bilal at the time of Fajr prayer: 'O Bilal, tell me about the most hopeful deed you have done in Islam, for I heard the sound of your sandals in front of me in Paradise.' Bilal replied: 'I have not done any deed more hopeful to me than this: I have never performed ablution at any time of the night or day without praying as much as was written for me afterward.'" [Agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim]
In a narration by Tirmidhi: "I have never become impure without performing ablution immediately, and I felt that I owed Allah two rak'ahs." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "It is because of these two."
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught us to seek guidance (Istikhara) in all matters, just as he taught us a Surah from the Quran. He said: 'When one of you is concerned about a matter, let him pray two rak'ahs of voluntary prayer, then say:
"O Allah, I seek Your guidance by Your knowledge, and I seek ability by Your power, and I ask You from Your immense favor. For You are capable, and I am not. You know, and I do not. You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affairs, or he said: in this life and the hereafter, then decree it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. But if You know that this matter is harmful for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affairs, or he said: in this life and the hereafter, then turn it away from me and turn me away from it. Decree for me what is good wherever it may be, and make me content with it."'
He should then mention his need." [Narrated by Bukhari]
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me, and Abu Bakr spoke the truth, that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'There is no man who commits a sin, then purifies himself, prays, and seeks Allah's forgiveness, except that Allah forgives him.' Then he recited: 'And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins, and who can forgive sins except Allah?, and do not persist in what they have done while they know.' (Al-Imran, 3:135)" [Narrated by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah, though Ibn Majah did not mention the verse]

Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) was faced with a serious matter, he would pray." [Narrated by Abu Dawud]
Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever has a need from Allah or from any of the children of Adam, let him perform ablution and perfect it, then pray two rak'ahs. Afterward, let him praise Allah, send blessings upon the Prophet (ﷺ), and say:
"There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous. Glory be to Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I ask You for the means of Your mercy, the certainty of Your forgiveness, the spoils of every good deed, and safety from every sin. Do not leave any sin of mine unforgiven, nor any worry unrelieved, nor any need that pleases You unfulfilled, O Most Merciful of the merciful.'" [Narrated by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah]
Tirmidhi said: "This is a Gharib Hadith."
