Whoever follows a path to seek knowledge, Allah will make the path to Paradise easy for him. No group gathers in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it together, except that tranquility descends upon them, mercy envelops them, angels surround them, and Allah mentions them to those who are with Him. And whoever is slowed down by his deeds will not be hastened forward by his lineage." [Narrated by Muslim]

He will reply, 'I fought for Your cause until I was martyred.' Allah will say, 'You have lied. You fought so that it might be said: He is courageous. And it was said.' Then he will be ordered to be dragged on his face until he is thrown into the Fire.
Another will be a man who acquired knowledge, taught it, and recited the Qur’an. He will be brought forward, and Allah will make known to him His favors, which he will recognize. Allah will ask, 'What did you do with them?' He will reply, 'I acquired knowledge, taught it, and recited the Qur’an for Your sake.' Allah will say, 'You have lied. You acquired knowledge so that it might be said: He is learned, and you recited the Qur’an so that it might be said: He is a reciter. And it was said.' Then he will be ordered to be dragged on his face until he is thrown into the Fire.
Another will be a man whom Allah made wealthy and to whom He gave all kinds of wealth. He will be brought forward, and Allah will make known to him His favors, which he will recognize. Allah will ask, 'What did you do with them?' He will reply, 'I did not leave any way You like wealth to be spent except that I spent in it for Your sake.' Allah will say, 'You have lied. You did so that it might be said: He is generous. And it was said.' Then he will be ordered to be dragged on his face until he is thrown into the Fire." [Narrated by Muslim].

It is narrated from Jareer (may Allah be pleased with him) that: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in the early part of the day when a group of people arrived. They were in dire poverty, wearing torn woolen cloaks or garments, with their swords slung around their necks. Most of them, or rather all of them, were from the tribe of Mudhar. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw their poor condition, his face changed (out of concern). He went inside, then came out, and commanded Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to give the call to prayer (Adhan). He gave the Adhan and then the Iqamah, and the Prophet (ﷺ) led the prayer.
Afterward, he addressed the people, saying: "O people, fear your Lord who created you from a single soul..." (Surah An-Nisa: 1) and he recited the entire verse. He then recited the verse from Surah Al-Hashr: "Fear Allah, and let every soul look to what it has sent forth for tomorrow..." (Surah Al-Hashr: 18).
The Prophet (ﷺ) then said: "Let a man give in charity from his gold, silver, clothing, a measure of barley, a measure of dates, or even a piece of a date."
Then a man from the Ansar came forward with a bundle that was so heavy it nearly overwhelmed him. After this, the people followed suit, giving in charity, until I saw two heaps of food and clothes. The face of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) lit up as though it was a piece of gold (out of joy).
The Prophet (ﷺ) then said: "Whoever initiates a good practice in Islam will have its reward and the reward of those who act upon it after him, without their rewards diminishing in the least. And whoever initiates a bad practice in Islam will bear its burden and the burden of those who act upon it after him, without their burdens diminishing in the least." [Narrated by Muslim]

It is narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "A soul will not be killed unjustly, except that the first son of Adam will have a share of its blood, for he was the first to commit murder." [Agreed upon]
It is narrated from Kathir ibn Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:
I was sitting with Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) in the mosque of Damascus, when a man came to him and said: "O Abu Darda, I have come to you from the city of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) with a matter that I heard you narrating from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and I did not come for any other need." Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Whoever follows a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make his path to Paradise easier. And the angels lower their wings in satisfaction for the seeker of knowledge. And the scholar is sought forgiveness by all those in the heavens and on the earth, even the fish in the water. The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like the superiority of the full moon on the night of its fullest over all other stars. And indeed, the scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets. The Prophets did not leave behind dinars or dirhams, but they left knowledge. So whoever takes it, takes a great share.'"

But this will not be like the thorns of the plant al-Qatad, from which nothing can be gathered except thorns. Likewise, nothing will be gained from being close to them except sin." [Narrated by Ibn Majah}

"If the people of knowledge had safeguarded their knowledge and placed it with those who deserved it, they would have dominated the people of their time. But instead, they gave it to the people of the world to gain from their worldly affairs, and so it became trivialized for them. I heard your Prophet (ﷺ) say: 'Whoever makes his concerns one concern, the concern of his Hereafter, Allah will take care of his worldly concerns. And whoever is overwhelmed with the various concerns of this world, Allah will not care in which valley he perishes.'"
