100. Sūrat Al-Adiyat · The Courser
’ By the galloping, panting horses,
By the snorting courses,
Oh, the chargers that run panting,
By those, that run snorting
By the charging horses that gallop (in the battlefield) and pant
striking sparks of fire ˹with their hoofs˺,
Striking sparks of fire
sparks of fire striking,
Then bring out spark of fire from stones by striking their hoops
And those that produce sparks striking their hoofs on rocks
launching raids at dawn,
And scouring to the raid at dawn,
rushing to assault at morn,
Then devastate at morning
Then they attack (the enemy) at dawn
stirring up ˹clouds of˺ dust,
Then, therewith, with their trail of dust,
thereby raising clouds of dust,
Then at time, they raise clouds of dust.
And then raise clouds of dust from the point (of attack)
and penetrating into the heart of enemy lines!
Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe),
thereby storming [blindly] into any host!
Then penetrate into the center of the forces of enemy
And then simultaneously pierce into (the enemy) ranks
Surely humankind is ungrateful to their Lord—
Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord
VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful
Undoubtedly, man is greatly unthankful to his Lord.
Indeed, man is most ungrateful to his Lord
and they certainly attest to this—
And lo! he is a witness unto that;
and to this, behold, he [himself] bears witness indeed:
And undoubtedly, he is himself a witness over it.
And verily, he is himself a witness to this ingratitude
and they are truly extreme in their love of ˹worldly˺ gains.
And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent.
for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted.
And undoubtedly, he is strong in the love of wealth.
And indeed, he is quite stubborn in his love of wealth
Do they not know that when the contents of the graves will be spilled out,
Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth
But does he not know that [on the Last Day,] when all that is in the graves is raised and brought out,
Does he not know when those that are in graves shall he raised?
But does he not know when those (dead) in the graves will be raised
and the secrets of the hearts will be laid bare—
And the secrets of the breasts are made known,
and all that is [hidden] in men's hearts is bared
And that which is in the breasts shall be opened ?
And secrets which are in hearts will be disclosed
surely their Lord is All-Aware of them on that Day.
On that day will their Lord be perfectly informed concerning them.
that on that Day their Sustainer [will show that He] has always been fully aware of them?
Undoubtedly, their Lord and that day is fully aware of them.
Indeed, their Lord will be Well Aware of their (deeds) on that Day
