99. Sūrat Az-Zalzalah · The Earthquake

When the earth is shaken ˹in˺ its ultimate quaking,

When Earth is shaken with her (final) earthquake

WHEN THE EARTH quakes with her [last] mighty quaking,

When the earth is shaken as, its shaking is appointed.

When the earth will be violently shaken with a high-scale quake

and when the earth throws out ˹all˺ its contents,

And Earth yieldeth up her burdens,

and [when] the earth yields up her burdens,

And the earth throws out its burden.

And when the earth will throw out (all) her burdens

and humanity cries, “What is wrong with it?”—

And man saith: What aileth her?

and man cries out, "What has happened to her?" -

And man says, 'what happened to her'?

And man (bewildered and baffled) will say: ‘What has happened to her?

on that Day the earth will recount everything,

That day she will relate her chronicles,

on that Day will she recount all her tidings,

That day it shall narrate all its news.

On that Day, she will herself bring to light her experiences

having been inspired by your Lord ˹to do so˺.

Because thy Lord inspireth her.

as thy Sustainer will have inspired her to do!

For your Lord has sent command to her.

For your Lord will have made subservient to her (the symbolic language of) sharp signals

On that Day people will proceed in separate groups to be shown ˹the consequences of˺ their deeds.

That day mankind will issue forth in scattered groups to be shown their deeds.

On that Day will all men come forward, cut off from one another, to be shown their [past] deeds.

On that, day people will return towards their Lord being in different ways, so that they may he shown their deeds.

On that Day, people will form up in different groups, (in diverse conditions,) so that they may be shown their works

So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.

And whoso doeth good an atom's weight will see it then,

And so, he who shall have done an atom's weight of good, shall behold it;

Then whosoever has done good of an weight of an atom shall see it.

Then he who will have done even an atom’s weight of good will see it

And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.

And whoso doeth ill an atom's weight will see it then.

and he who shall have done an atom's weight of evil, shall behold it.

And whosoever has done evil of an weight of an atom shall see it

And he who will have done even an atom’s weight of evil will (also) see it
