عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسِ (رضي الله عنهما) قَالَ: خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ - يَعْنِي فِي الْإِسْتِسْقَاءِ مُتَبَدِّلًا مُتَوَاضِعًا مُتَخَشِّعًا مُتَضَرِّعًا. رَوَاهُ التَّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُوْ دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَه.

English

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out to pray for rain in a humble state, showing humility, reverence, and supplication." [Narrated by Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah]

وَعَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُوْلُ: «خَرَجَ نَبِيُّ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ بِالنَّاسِ يَسْتَسْقِي، فَإِذَا هُوَ بِنَمْلَةٍ رَافِعَةٍ بَعْضَ قَوَائِمِهَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، فَقَالَ: ارْجِعُوْا فَقَدْ اسْتُجِيْبَ لَكُمْ مِنَ أَجْلِ هَذِهِ النَّمْلَةِ». رَوَاهُ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ.

English

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, 'A prophet went out with his people to pray for rain. He saw an ant lifting some of its legs toward the sky, so he said, "Return, for you have been answered because of this ant."'" [Narrated by Al-Daraqutni]

وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ (رضي الله عنها) قَالَتْ: إِنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا رَأَى الْمَطَرَ قَالَ: «اللهُمَّ صَيِّبًا نَافِعًا». رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ.

English

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw rain, he would say, 'O Allah, make it a beneficial downpour.'" [Narrated by Bukhari]

وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: أَصَابَنَا - وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ ﷺ - مَطَرُ، قَالَ: فَحَسَرَ

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثَوْبَهُ حَتَّى أَصَابَهُ مِنَ الْمَطَرِ، فَقُلْنَا : يَا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ، لِمَ صَنَعْتَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: لِأَنَّهُ حَدِيْثُ عَهْدٍ بِرَبِّهِ». رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.

English

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when it rained. He removed his garment so that the rain would fall on him. We asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, why did you do this?' He replied, 'Because it has just come from my Lord.'" [Narrated by Muslim]
