It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "What lies between the east and the west is the Qiblah." 1 [Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi]
Notes /
1 Explanation of the statement: "What lies between the east and the west is the Qiblah": The apparent meaning is that this refers to the Qiblah of the people of Madinah, as it lies between the east and the west. This hadith supports the opinion that the Qiblah is determined by direction. For the people of Makkah, it is the exact direction of the Ka'bah, while for others, it is the general direction. This is mentioned in Al-Mirqat and Ad-Durr Al-Mukhtar.

It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "Whoever comes to this mosque of mine, only coming for good, to learn or teach, he is like a Mujahid in the cause of Allah. Whoever comes for any other reason is like a man looking at the property of others." [Narrated by Ibn Majah and Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab Al-Iman]

I looked and saw that it was 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). He said, "Go and bring those two men." I brought them, and he asked, "Who are you, or where are you from?" They said, "We are from the people of Ta'if." He said, "If you were from the people of Madinah, I would have punished you severely. You raise your voices in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)." [Narrated by Al-Bukhari]

Notes /
1 Explanation of the statement: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed women who frequently visit graves": In Sharh As-Sunnah, it is explained that this was before the permission was granted. When the permission was given, it included both men and women. The meaning of the permission is his statement: "I had forbidden you from visiting graves, but now visit them, for they remind you of the Hereafter." This is mentioned in Al-Mirqat. In Ad-Durr Al-Mukhtar and Rad Al-Muhtar, it is stated: "There is no harm in visiting graves, even for women, as mentioned in the hadith: 'I had forbidden you...' Rather, it is recommended, as stated in Al-Bahr from Al-Mujtaba, due to the command in the mentioned hadith. However, one should not abandon visiting graves because of the innovations and corrupt practices that occur at the graves of saints, such as mixing between men and women. Acts of worship should not be abandoned for such reasons. Rather, one should perform them and reject innovations, and even remove them if possible."
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The rewards of my Ummah were shown to me, even the reward for removing a speck of dust from the mosque. The sins of my Ummah were also shown to me, and I did not see a sin greater than a Surah or a verse of the Qur'an that a man was given and then forgot." [Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud]
It is narrated from Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When you see a man frequenting the mosque, testify to his faith, for Allah says: 'The mosques of Allah are only maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day.' (Qur'an, At-Tawbah 9:18)." [Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and Al-Darimi]
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A man's prayer in congregation is twenty-five times greater than his prayer at home or in the market. This is because when he performs ablution and perfects it, then goes to the mosque, with no purpose other than prayer, he does not take a single step except that he is raised a degree and a sin is removed from him. When he prays, the angels continue to pray for him as long as he remains in his place of prayer: 'O Allah, bless him, O Allah, have mercy on him.' And one of you remains in prayer as long as he is waiting for the prayer." In another narration, it adds: "When one of you enters the mosque, the prayer holds him... and the angels' supplication includes: 'O Allah, forgive him, O Allah, accept his repentance,' as long as he does not harm anyone or commit any sin." [Agreed upon]

It is narrated from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Three people are guaranteed by Allah: A man who goes out to fight in the cause of Allah is guaranteed by Allah until He takes his soul and admits him to Paradise or returns him with reward or spoils; a man who goes to the mosque is guaranteed by Allah; and a man who enters his home peacefully is guaranteed by Allah." [Narrated by Abu Dawud]

It is narrated from him (Abu Umamah) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever leaves his home in a state of purity for an obligatory prayer, his reward is like that of a pilgrim in Ihram. Whoever goes out for the Duha prayer, with no purpose other than that, his reward is like that of a person performing 'Umrah. And a prayer followed by another prayer, with no idle talk in between, is recorded in 'Illiyyin (the highest heaven)." [Narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawud]

It is narrated from Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The person who receives the greatest reward for prayer is the one who walks the farthest to it, and the one who waits for the prayer until he prays it with the Imam receives a greater reward than the one who prays and then sleeps." [Agreed upon]

It is narrated from Ibn 'Abbas and Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with them) with an addition: "He said: 'O Muhammad, do you know what the highest assembly is disputing about?' I said: 'Yes, it is about the expiations.' The expiations are staying in the mosques after the prayer, walking on foot to congregational prayers, and perfecting ablution in difficult conditions. Whoever does this will live a good life and die a good death, and he will be free from sin as on the day his mother gave birth to him." He said: "O Muhammad, when you pray, say: 'O Allah, I ask You for the ability to do good deeds, to avoid evil deeds, and to love the poor.
It is narrated from Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was delayed one morning from the Fajr prayer until we almost saw the sun. He came out quickly, and the Iqamah was called. He prayed and shortened his prayer. When he finished, he called out to us and said: "Stay in your rows as you are." Then he turned to us and said: "I will tell you what delayed me this morning. I got up at night, performed ablution, and prayed what was decreed for me. I dozed off during my prayer until I became heavy with sleep. Then I saw my Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, in the most beautiful form. He said: 'O Muhammad.' I said: 'Here I am, my Lord.' He said: 'What are the highest assembly disputing about?' I said: 'I do not know.' He repeated this three times. Then I felt His hand between my shoulders, and I felt the coolness of His fingers between my chest. Everything became clear to me, and I understood. He said: 'O Muhammad.' I said: 'Here I am, my Lord.' He said: 'What are the highest assembly disputing about?' I said: 'About the expiations.' He said: 'What are they?' I said: 'Walking on foot to congregational prayers, sitting in the mosques after the prayers, and perfecting ablution in difficult conditions.' He said: 'Then what?' I said: 'About the levels.' He said: 'What are they?' I said: 'Feeding others, speaking kindly, and praying at night while people are asleep.' He said: 'Ask.' I said: 'O Allah, I ask You for the ability to do good deeds, to avoid evil deeds, and to love the poor. Forgive me and have mercy on me. If You intend to test a people, take me to You without being tested. I ask for Your love, the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds that bring me closer to Your love.'" Notes / الحواشي
1 Explanation of the statement: "Let him pray two Rak'ahs before sitting": In Ad-Durr Al-Mukhtar and Rad Al-Muhtar, it is said: "It is recommended to greet the Lord of the mosque, which is two Rak'ahs. Performing an obligatory prayer or another prayer suffices for it without specific intention, and it suffices once per day. It is not invalidated by sitting, according to our view. They said in Al-Hakim: 'If a judge enters the mosque, he may pray the greeting upon entering or leaving, as the purpose is achieved,' as mentioned in Al-Ghayah. As for the hadith in the Sahihayn: 'When one of you enters the mosque, he should not sit until he prays two Rak'ahs,' it explains the first recommendation. This is supported by the hadith of Ibn Hibban in his Sahih: 'O Abu Dharr, the mosque has a greeting, and its greeting is two Rak'ahs. Stand and pray them.' The full explanation is in Al-Hilyah."
