العربية

لَیْسَ الْخَبَرُ کَالْمُعَایَنَةِ

English

The report is not like witnessing.

العربية

الْحَرْبُ خُدَعَةٌ

English

War is deception.

No. 3

العربية

الْمُسْلِمُ مِرْآةُ الْمُسْلِمِ

English

A Muslim is a mirror of the Muslim.

العربية

الْمُسْتَشَارُ مُؤتَمَنٌ

English

Someone whose advice is sought is in a position of trust.

العربية

الدَّالُّ عَلَی الْخَیْرِ کَفَاعِلِهِ

English

The person guiding (someone) to do a good deed, is like the one performing the good deed.

إِسْتَعِیْنُوْا عَلَی الْحَوَائِجِ بِالْکِتْمَانِ

English

Seek help for any needs discreetly.

إِتَّقُوْا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ

English

Protect yourself from the fire even with a part of a date.

الدُّنْیَا سِجْنُ الْمُؤمِنِ وَ جَنَّةُ الْکَافِرِ

English

The world is the believer’s prison and the disbeliever’s paradise.

الْحَیَاءُ خَیْرٌ کُلُّهُ

English

Modesty is entirely good.

العربية

عِدَةُ الْمُؤمِنِ کَاَخْذِ الْکَفِّ

English

The word of the believer is like seizing of the hand.

العربية

لَا یَحِلُّ لِمُؤمِنٍ اَنْ یَّجُهْرَ أخَاهُ فَوقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أیَّامٍ

English

It is unlawful for a believer to sever relations with his brother for more than three days.

لَیْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ غَشَّنَا

English

He is not one of us who cheats us.

العربية

مَا قَلَّ وَكَفَى خَيْرٌ مِمَّا كَثُرَ وَأَلْهَى

English

A little that suffices is better than an abundance that distracts.

العربية

الرَّاجِعُ فِيْ هِبَتِهِ کَالرَّاجِعِ فِيْ قَیْئِهِ

English

Someone who takes back his gift is like someone who eats his vomit.

العربية

الْبَلَاءُ مُوَکِّلٌ بِالْمَنْطِقِ

English

Affliction comes from (loose) talk.

النَّاسُ کَأسْنَانِ الْمُشْطِ

English

People are like the teeth of a comb.

الْغِنَى غِنَى النَّفْسِ

English

Richness lies in the richness of the soul.

العربية

الْسَّعِیْدُ مَنْ وُّعِظَ بِغَیْرِهِ

English

The felicitous person takes lessons from (the actions of) others.

العربية

وَ إِنَّ مِنَ الشِّعْرِ لَحِکْمَةً وَاِنَّ مِنَ الْبَیَانِ لَسِحْرًا

English

Indeed, in poetry there is wisdom and in eloquence there is magic.

العربية

عَفْوُ الْمُلُوْكِ إِبْقَاءٌ لِلْمُلْكِ

English

The king’s pardon preserves the kingdom.

العربية

اَلْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ

English

A man will be with whom he loves.

العربية

مَا هَلَكَ إمْرُؤٌ عَرَفَ قَدْرَهُ

English

A man who knows his worth will not be ruined.

العربية

اَلْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ وَ لِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ

English

The child belongs to the bed and stoning is for the adulterer.

العربية

الْیَدُ الْعُلْیَا خَیْرٌ مِّنَ الْیَدِ السُّفْلَی

English

The upper hand is superior to the lower hand.

العربية

لَا شَکَرَ اللهَ مَنْ لَّا یَشْکُرُ النَّاسَ

English

He does not thank Allah who does not thank people.

العربية

حُبُّكَ الشَّيْءَ یُعْمِيْ وَ یُصِمُّ

English

Your love of something can blind and deafen (you).

العربية

جُبِلَتِ الْقُلُوبُ عَلی حُبَّ مَنْ اَحْسَنَ اِلَیْهَا وَ بُغْضِ مَنْ اَسَاءَ اِلَیْهَا

English

Hearts are predisposed to love someone who does them good and detest someone who does them harm.

الْتَّائِبُ مِنَ الذَّنْبِ کَمَنْ لَا ذَنْبَ لَهُ

English

One who repents from sin is like someone without sin.

العربية

الشَّاهِدُ یَرَی مَا لَا یَرَاهُ الْغَائِبُ

English

The person who actually witnesses an (event) sees that which one who is absent does not.

العربية

اِذا جَاءَکُمْ کَرِیْمُ قَوْمٍ فَاَکْرِمُوهُ

English

If the nobleman of a people comes to you, honour him.

العربية

الْیَمِینُ الْفَاجِرَةُ تَدَعُ الدِّیَارَ الْبَلَاقِعَ

English

False oaths lay waste to home (lands).

العربية

مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِیْدٌ

English

Whoever is killed attempting to save his property is a martyr.

الْاَعْمَالُ بِالنِّیَّةِ

English

Actions are through intentions.

سَیِّدُ الْقَوْمِ خَادِمُهُمْ

English

The leader of a people is their servant.

العربية

خَیْرُ الْأُمُوْرِ أَوْسَطُهَا

English

The best of affairs is that which is balanced.

اَللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ فِیْ أُمَّتِیْ فِی بُکُوْرِهَا یَوْمَ الْخَمِیْسِ

English

O Allah, bless my nation in its early rising on Thursdays!

کَادَ الْفَقْرُ أَنْ یَکُوْنَ کُفْرًا

English

Poverty can almost turn into disbelief.

الْسَّفَرُ قِطْعَةٌ مِّنَ الْعَذَابِ

English

Travelling is a portion of punishment.

خَیْرُ زَّادِ الْتَّقْوَی

English

The best of provision is God-Consciousness (taqwa).

الْمَجَالِسُ بِالْاَمَانَةِ

English

Meetings are under trust.
